Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Our Cause: The Family YMCA of Lancaster and Fairfield County is a cause-driven organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. We utilize resources to help youth develop to their fullest potential, provide health and wellness opportunities for people of all ages and abilities, foster community and economic development, and serve as a valuable community asset to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
Our Values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Our values are celebrated by staff, volunteers, and members and provide a positive foundation for all Y programs and a healthy connection with others.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
The Y is made up of people of all ages and from every walk of life working side by side to strengthen individuals and our community. Together, at the Y, we work to ensure that everyone is treated in a fair and just manner. We do this by building inclusive and welcoming environments where all people are supported and can strive to reach their goals, make friends, help others, and improve our community.
We accomplish this through the following areas:
- Programs and Membership – We create inviting programs and memberships that meet needs and build a sense of belonging and wellbeing.
- Partnerships – We lead, learn, and educate by partnering with community organizations to support the groups and establishments in our community.
- Organizational Stewardship – We value accountability across our leadership, with staff, and our members and empower those involved to positively impact policies to cultivate respectful relationships.
- Leadership Development – We intentionally develop culturally competent leaders who value, respect, and can appropriately communicate with people of different cultures and backgrounds.
- Advocacy – We stand for and champion initiatives that align with our mission and promote equity.
Giving Back to the Community
Nonprofit
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Y provides crucial programs and services to more than 230,000 people every year. With the help of generous donors, we are able to provide financial assistance to ensure everyone has a chance to succeed and belong at the Y.
