OPEN DOORS PROGRAM

Everyone is Welcome at the Y

The heart of our mission is to reach out and serve every member of our community. We believe that our programs and services should be available to everyone, which is why we offer the Open Doors program.

This initiative provides a sliding fee scale designed to fit your unique financial situation, ensuring that youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility remain accessible to all.

Program Details:

  • Confidentiality First: We handle all personal financial information in a strictly confidential manner. Your data is only reviewed by Y staff and is never shared with outside agencies.
  • Income-Based Support: Our sliding fee scale is specifically designed to fit the unique financial situation of each individual and family in our community.
  • Simple Verification: To apply, we just need a copy of your most recent tax return and proof of any financial assistance you currently receive.
  • Annual Updates: To ensure we are providing the right level of support, membership and program fees are reviewed for eligibility on an annual basis.

Quick FAQs

An active older adult on a fixed income, a single parent who is trying to make ends meet, a family in transition, someone who needs a little help for a while. All of these people are the faces of the Financial Assistance Program at the Y.
We offer a sliding fee scale based on the annual gross household income and the number of dependents living in the household.
The YMCA believes a strong sense of ownership and pride is developed if the assistance recipient has contributed to the cost of their Y involvement. Therefore, applicants will be asked to pay a portion of the fee.
Only you and a membership representative will have access to your application. We track assistance data, but only in terms of numbers and statistics; not by names of individuals.
Assistance is available for memberships, most YMCA programs, and child care. Assistance will be awarded to be used toward membership or one program per participant at a time.
