Areas of focus

Rock Steady Boxing

The goal of this program is to utilize a variety of boxing drills and exercises to slow the progression of this disease. Also, through this program, people with Parkinson’s learn that this disease does not define them and that they can work  TOGETHER to gain their independence back.

The class exercises are largely adapted from boxing drills. Boxers condition for optimal agility, speed, muscular endurance, accuracy, hand-eye coordination, footwork, and overall strength. In this Rock Steady Boxing Program, Parkinson’s disease is the opponent. Exercises vary in purpose and form but share one common trait: they are meticulous and intended to extend the capabilities of our participants.
